Our 6 Days Rift Valley lakes Masai Mara safari visits the 4 Kenyan parks that have numerous bird life. The larger and the lesser flamingos, kingfishers, hot springs and Geysers as characterized in lake Bogoria national park. Lake Bogoria is an alkaline lake and it hosts the world’s largest populations of lesser flamingos. Due to the lake’s alkalinity, blue green algae grows well, this in turn feeds the flamingos. At times the number of flamingos feeding in the lake may be as many as two million. Thus creating a wonderful undulating blaze of pink as the flamingos go about their feeding. This scene of brilliant pink flamingos by the millions is only found in the Rift Valley Lakes of Kenya, and so is not replicated anywhere else in the world. This is due to the very specific environment needed by the birds.

At the start of our Rift valley lakes and Masai Mara safari you will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel at 0730hrs and drive via the scenic floor of the spectacular Rift Valley from the top of an escarpment, dotted with its string of lakes, that is a great introduction to the natural beauty of the region. We arrive Lake Bogoria Resort in good time for lunch then explore the Lake Bogoria national park in the afternoon.
Lake Bogoria, a shallow soda lake set amidst beautiful scenery. Like the other Kenyan soda lakes, it has no outlet and the intense evaporation leads to high levels of salt and minerals, which flamingos love and from a distance the surface of the water appears bright pink. Next to the lake are steaming hot springs and geysers. This lake is a home for numerous species of bird especially the pink flamingos. Dinner and overnight stay at Lake Bogoria resort.

Our Rift valley lakes Masai Mara budget safari continues south to Lake Nakuru National Park after breakfast, another shallow soda lake famous for its birdlife, and the park is also home to lion, many rhino and if you’re very lucky you may spot a leopard in an Acacia tree. Overnight at a Hotel in Nakuru town.
Lake Nakuru National park, one of the alkaline Rift Valley lakes and a famed bird sanctuary. The Lake has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species– particularly the Rothschild Giraffe and the black and white rhino. Other wildlife like Lions, waterbucks, buffalo, and baboons are all residents here.
