You can choose to complete this route in either six days or seven days. Machame route is the most popular route on Mount Kilimanjaro.
The Machame route is strictly done for not less than 6 days. This is because fewer days spent climbing Mount Kilimanjaro using Machame route bring more risk on Mountain sickness and tiredness. This leads to less performance to the roof top of Africa the Uhuru peak.
All the camps on this route sell goods such as chocolates, beer, soft drinks and mineral water. They also have a radio contact to the Park Office. This route can be done in 5 days but it is advisable to take an extra day for acclimatization at the Horombo hut. Horombo hut is also the only campsite on Kilimanjaro with beds and mattresses.
Your 8 days Mt Kilimanjaro climbing Machame route expedition can start from Arusha or Moshi Tanzania.The guides and porters prepare and pack the supplies and your equipment in the village. You will receive a lunch pack and you can also buy mineral water in the village. Depending on the condition of the road, it is possible to drive from the village to the Machame gate to start the trek.
