3 day trip to Amboseli We spent 3 days at Kibo Safari Camp in Amboseli with our guide Martin. Fantastic trip! Martin was great, really knoweldgeable and he seemed to enjoy himself just as much as we did. He knows everything about birds and all the species on offer in the park. I would recommend Asili to anyone who wants to spend a few days on Safari, and next time we come over we'll ask for Martin again.

GREAT trip! Great budget trip! Vehicle is a van with a roof that pops open - works great if there are just a few of you so you can move all around the vehicle taking pictures; it would have felt crowded if the van was filled (our guide said most of the time only your group is in the van). A microphone would have helped as it's hard to hear when on bumpy roads. We did the 12 day Masai Mara and Kenya Game Parks Wildlife Safari. We booked through African Budget Safaris, which was a great company for handling questions and it found this trip for me, but it would have been cheaper to go straight through Asili. We experienced many wonderful parks, wildlife, and city/country life as you do a lot of driving in between parks - those different parks let you experience a nice cross-section of Kenya. Our guide Marten was excellent and was very concerned for our safety. He really knew animal behaviors and the area. Marten spent a lot of time finding birds for me - but he will find what you are interested in if possible. Hotels/luxury camps were very nice - not top of the line but we didn't pay that kind of money. Food was good and plentiful. Tsavo West - Ngulia Safari Lodge Amboseli - Kibo Safari Camp Mt. Safari i Tarangire, Ngorongoro & Serengeti Vi var på 4 dagars Safari nyss med Asili i Tanzania och vi är extremt nöjda med leveransen. Safarin var fantastisk på alla sett och Asili hade organiserat allting perfekt från första stund. Vår guide Evans var både mycket kunnig, rolig och hade bra fingertoppskänsla, en mycket kompetent guide. Den vilda naturen och djuren i Serengeti var resans höjdpunkt och vi är mycket glada att vi gjorde den här resan och kan varmt rekommendera Asili!

Amazing experience 6 day Kenya trip This was one from the bucket list. Asili Tours was chosen by Claire at African Budget Safaris who has found me several great African trips. Don’t be fooled by the word budget. I stayed at The Marriott in Nairobi and beautiful lodges at lake Nakuru, lake Naivasha and the third within the Maasai Mara park. The lodges were well appointed with excellent food. It was small group with our own driver in a minibus with open top for animal viewing and photos when needed. Jimmy was fun and knowledgable. We saw a huge selection of animals and birds throughout but in the Mara there were abundant elephants, giraffes, lions, all types of buck and wildebeest and even cheetahs. The dawn balloon flight over the Mara followed by a champagne breakfast was unforgettable. A very reasonably priced trip for what was on offer with the pleasure of meeting the owner of Asili the evening afternoon after we arrived. We modified the programme a little which was the advantage of using a smaller local company.

Kenya and Tanzania safari We went for an 8 day safari and it was amazing. Our driver/guide Mike in Kenya was excellent, timely and very knowledgeable. The accommodation were very nice and the food was very good. People at all the lodges and camps both in Kenya and Tanzania were very nice. I would highly recommend Asili for your next safari. The days of game driving are long, and mornings were cool, so you have to wear layers. The place we stayed prepared lunch boxes so we were on the game drive all day.

Safari in Kenya and Tanzania with Asili Safaris in 2019 My wife, myself and two friends traveled together to Kenya and Tanzania as guests of Asili Advanture Safaris. It was an 8 day adventure that took us to Massai Mara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. Our hosts were very well organized, always on time and just simply a pleasure to deal with. Mike, our guide/driver in Keya's part of the Safari was phenomenal. His knowledge of all animals, birds, plants and terrain was unsurpassed!! Within the first 21/2 days we saw just about all of the animals that reside in that part of Africa thanks to Mike's knowledge and co-operation with other drivers. The timing of our trip was great. Weather cooperated very nicely with comfortable temperatures of 55F at night to about 80F in daytime (September/October). Camps were very comfortable, even luxurious. Food quality in all of them was great. For lunch the camps prepared lunch boxes since we ate in certain designated areas in the savanna. Days started with breakfast at about 7am and we were back in a camp about 5pm. So, a long day of driving and experiencing the wildlife. The wildlife....hard to describe in words, must see!! Most say this is a lifetime experience, for us it certainly was, despite the fact that we traveled extensively in other parts of the World and saw many very interesting countries. Bring binoculars and cameras (a must), and comfortable clothes. We had pre-arranged visas obtained online. It makes it easier and saves time at the border crossings. If you are going from Kenya to Tanzania and then back to Kenya only single entry visa to Kenya is required. We heard a lot of conflicting ideas about it but single entry visa to Kenya was all we needed. We caution about visiting the Massai Village. It is a commercial undertaking which has very little to do with their normal way of life. The "villagers" sold trinkets made somewhere else as their own at a price that was 4 times as high as the same merchandise in other places. On a positive note, our visit to a fishing village on the shore of Lake Victoria was a very nice surprise. Nobody was trying to sell us anything, the village people went about their own daily activities, while we were walking around (with a guide) to observe their daily habits. They do not seem to mind a few curious tourists to walk around their village. Of course, the main objective of our Safari was to observe the wildlife. Except of the rhinos, we saw all of the animals which live there. Not once did we feel unsafe or threaten. Asili provided very professional and friendly service for which we are grateful!! We highly recommend this company for the future tourists who want to experience great African safari.

Kenya safari of a lifetime - made spectacular by Asili My children and I travelled with Asili for our 7 day Kenya Safari. Visiting places of unsurpassed beauty, seeing amazing animals and experiencing new cultures. However, what made the trip was the friendly, professional, knowledgeable and amazing insight (where is that leopard!) of our guide. Not only did he show kindness to us, flexibly changing the schedule to fit with tired children and usual travel issues, he helped others (fixing broken down tourist vans). Thank you Asili, you went beyond our expectations and at the same time made us feel like we were part of your family. We would recommend you to other families and those interested in an experience that truely taps into Kenya locals.

Above and Beyond! After returning from 35 days in Africa, we wanted to share our experience while it was fresh in our minds. Three safaris took us through the countries of South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania. Our final safari was with Asili Adventure Safaris and Tours, an eight-day Kenya and Tanzania safari via Lake Victoria, and we could not have chosen a better way to end our lengthy stay, as it was far better than we had hoped. If there was a higher TripAdvisor rating, we would give it to Asili Adventure Safaris and Tours! We talked with Joyce, the manager of Asili, months prior to embarking on our journey and sensed from that conversation that we would be in experienced hands. So shortly thereafter, we arranged for our hotel in Nairobi, and informed and confirmed our trip with Asili. We directly received a three-page, comprehensive, daily safari itinerary which also scheduled transfers from and to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and our hotel. Meeting and dining with Joyce was an unanticipated highlight of our African experience. Joyce, thank you so much for all that you did to make everything go so smoothly and us feel so special! Regarding our Jomo Kenyatta International Airport experience, we were stressed due to the extraordinary amount of time it took to secure visas and baggage, however we quickly found our Asili driver patiently waiting. We also discovered we should have obtained a Kenyan eVisa before traveling, made sure our Visa Card had an associated pin number, and most reassuringly, that Asili was sincerely committed to assisting and seamlessly monitoring its guests throughout their entire visit to Kenya and Tanzania. On the first day of our safari we arrived in the hotel lobby 15 minutes earlier than the arranged pick-up time of 7:30 am and found our driver/guide for Kenya, Martin, waiting for us. Martin proceeded to navigate through the traffic of Nairobi (a feat unto itself), the Great Rift Valley and then on to our first day’s destination, the Enkorok Mara camp, five minutes from the Masai Mara National Park gate. (If you are interested in purchasing curios and souvenirs, inform your driver! If not, inform your driver!) We arrived and got into our charming bungalow in Enkorok Mara, in time for lunch and an extraordinary afternoon game drive. Martin was an excellent guide and during our stay, as anticipated, we saw and photographed much of the major wildlife the Masai Mara had to offer, e.g. lions, leopards, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, hyaenas, antelopes, vultures, ostriches… and the list goes on. Nevertheless, the highlight of our visit to the Masai Mara was when Martin deviated from our trip to the Kenya-Tanzania border and speedily backtracked just in time for us to photograph a leopard descending a tree with the remainder of a kill in its mouth. At the border we were introduced and transferred to our Tanzanian guide, Hashim, and even though we were uncomfortably late in arriving, due to our leopard excursion, we found him extremely welcoming. He made obtaining our visas smooth and painless. Hhheeeyyy… Hashim was the personification of the concept of Hakuna Matata! (An inside joke.) Hashim noted from our initial conversation that we were at the end of a lengthy stay in Africa and had already seen a lot of wildlife, and concurrently we discovered that Hashim had a wealth of information. Ergo, we immediately bonded! In the days that followed we were delighted to discover that Hashim did not rely on a CB radio to locate wildlife, but rather used his knowledge of animal behavior and his tracking skills. His familiarity with the Serengeti was uncanny. Case in point, after seeing a cheetah and her clubs at an incredible distance, rather than pursue them, Hashim drove and positioned us to intersect what he inferred to be their path, predicting exactly which out of more than several termite mounds that they would wind up a top. As a licensed fly-fishing guide, I can say without reservation that Hashim is a guide’s guide in the truest sense. Suffice it to say that we were extremely pleased with every aspect of our time with Asili, the lodgings (especially the unexpected luxurious accommodations at Lake Victoria), the excellent food and service at each stay, the sights and wildlife we saw, the locals with whom we interacted in a fishing village, the Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater, but most assuredly, the care and oversight of Asili Adventure Safaris and Tours from the moment we landed in Nairobi to the day we left. We highly recommend Asili Adventure Safaris and Tours for your forthcoming trip.

A Great 9 Day Safari with A Great Company We just returned home from a great 9 day Safari with a great company and Martin as our guide. Martin was a real pleasure. Martin has a “good” eye at spotting wildlife. Martin is also a very safe driver who is well acquainted with the roads and all places travelled. After landing in Nairobi, we continued to Masa Mari, Lake Navisha, Amboseli, West Tsavo, and to Diani Beach on the outskirts of Mombasa. All accommodations were clean, safe, and provided good meals with superb hospitality. We saw all animals imaginable, except the rhinos. This company is honest and dependable. There was never any waiting for our driver. Our hot air balloon ride was cancelled, due to wind conditions. The tour company met us at the airport in Nairobi, upon departure, with a full cash refund. If you are looking for a great worry-free Safari, with an honest and dependable company, go with Asili Adventure Tours.

Our 2nd safari with Asili Adventure safaris was amazing. Our 1st safari was in Sept 2017. We never thought we would have the chance to get back to Africa, but when the opportunity came up for us to be able to do a 2nd safari, there was no question on who we would go with. The Asili team Joyce & Monica were so helpful in putting together our private & exclusive photography package into Tarangire Nat Park (Nasikia Ndovu camp) and Serengeti Nat Park (Mawe camp) But the most important thing was how good our guide Silver was. We had a good time with him as our guide in 2017 but this safari was even more special. We got to know him more personal and it felt like we were with a friend we have known for a long time. His knowledge amazed us, but his attitude and his professional approach to his job has to be equal or above any guide in Africa. His approach to being prepared for unplanned things that might happen out in the bush sets him apart from the other guides we came across. He pulled a vehicle out of the mud that did not have a tow strap or shovel with him. A 2nd time he stopped and let a driver use his strap who was trying to help a driver that was stuck but neither one of them had a strap. ( I was capturing this on video and saying Silver to the rescue again) and on a 3rd time he was able to push another vehicle to get it started. One of the highlights of the trip (to many highlights to mention them all) was getting to stop at the school where his dad had been a teacher and drop off the school supplies we packed in an extra check on bag. If you are planning a safari please thank about bringing a bag of school supplies to donate. Another special highlight was getting to visit with Joyce and Vincent the night before our safari. A few of the other highlights included a list of shots we did not get on the first trip. Two young male elephants sparing in the water/ two giraffes sparing/ a rare sighting of a serval cat, with its beautiful fur and hunting prowess a serval cat sighting could be a premier highlight of any safari/ and maybe our most exciting highlight was getting to see a MaMa lion carrying her young cubs and moving them to safety. And last it is hard to express my thanks to Silver for taking such good care of Deb. She had a few tough days of not feeling so good. Silver made sure she was eating and kept a close watch on her. Because of his thoughtfulness and concern she toughed it out and we did not change our plans. We done a full day drive in Tarangire and four full day game drives in the Serengeti, two days leaving after 6:00 breakfast and returning at dusk and two days leaving at 6:00 with our breakfast and lunch seeing and getting so many wonderful photos of the wildlife and landscape.
